The Institute of Manufacturing and Materials Technology was established in 2021 as a result of the merger of two faculties as the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding. The Institute continues the activities of the Department of Manufacturing and Production Engineering and the Department of Materials Science and Welding of the former Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
The Institute consists of five departments:

  • Department of Manufacturing and Production Engineering
  • Department of Materials Science and Technology
  • Department of Biomaterials Technology
  • Department of Technology of Structural Materials and Welding
  • Department of Functional Materials

The Institute of Manufacturing and Materials Technology employs 57 employees, including 50 academic teachers.
The director of the Institute is dr hab. eng. Stefan Dzionk, university professor.
