MEASURING SYSTEM FOR TESTING THE NOISE OF CAR TIRES AND ROAD SURFACES BY THE SPB AND CPB METHOD

LOCATION: The main building of the former Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, laboratory of DMVMT (patrons: Associate Professor Grzegorz Ronowski, Professor Jerzy A. Ejsmont, Associate Professor Piotr Mioduszewski, Associate Professor Stanisław Taryma, PhD Eng. Ryszard Woźniak, PhD Eng. Wojciech Owczarzak, MSc Eng. Sławomir Sommer).

DESCRIPTION: Test system for noise measurements of car tires and road surfaces in road conditions. The system includes a multi-channel sound analyzer, four measuring microphones, a radar for measuring vehicle speed, a set of photocells and a control computer with specialized software. This system is used for research carried out under international and national projects. It enables the measurements of the pavement noise by the statistical drive (SPB) method in accordance with the ISO 11819-1 standard and the controlled drive by method (CPB).

List of projects in which the device has been and is used: 5PRUE – HARMONOISE, 5PRUE – SILVIA, 6PRUE – IMAGINE, 7PRUE – PERSUADE, 7PRUE – ROSANNE, Norway Grants – LEO, NCBiR – SEPOR, PolNor – ELANORE, Swedish Road Administration - VENOM, Grant MNiSW “Modeling of external noise of motor vehicles traveling at low speeds”.
