Transport and Logistics

About the course

Study course lasts three terms. There are two specialties: Intelligent Transport Systems and Multimodal and Inland Transport. After the 1st term the students select one of two specialties. The subsequent two terms are dedicated to gaining specialized theoretical and practical knowledge within the selected specialty.

Perspectives for future employment

A graduate will be ready to start working in enterprises, organizational and research-and-development units connected with sailing and widely understood marine economy, in ship owner companies, spedition companies, land transportation companies and supporting companies, in industrial plants, design bureaus and science and research institutions dealing with transport, in companies providing and implementing modern IT systems for the needs of transport, or in any company whose profile of operation includes transport processes.

Outline of the study program

Studies last 3 terms, they are divided into two specialties: water transport means and water transport systems. After the 3rd term the students select one of two specialties.

Qualifications of the graduates

A graduate of the second degree course will have a wide knowledge on the functioning of modern transport engineering, including in particular sea and inland transport. As a potential employee of state administration units he will be ready to manage, analyze the traffic, design and upgrade waterways. They will have qualifications allowing them to design and manage modern logistics terminals, they will be ready to take the responsibility for the genral shape of processes and infrastructure for storage and loading and operation of TOS systems. As an employee of a spedition company, he will know the basic legal and economical factors applicable to the international transport and will be able to coordinate the transport operations and supervise all the stages of a complex process of intermodal transport, including risk analysis. As an employee of any company, they will be responsible with the decisions regarding optimum purchase and efficient operation of the means of transport (including energy management), purchase and operation of modern IT and electronic solutions and complex organization of logistics and transport processes. They will be able to apply all these skills in their own enterprise operating in transport.
