MOBILE SET FOR ROLLING RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS „R2 MK.2”

MOBILE SET FOR ROLLING RESISTANCE MEASUREMENTS „R2 Mk.2”

LOCATION: The main building of the former Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, laboratory of DMVMT, (patrons: Associate Professor Grzegorz Ronowski, Professor Jerzy A. Ejsmont, Associate Professor Piotr Mioduszewski, Associate Professor Stanisław Taryma, PhD Eng. Ryszard Woźniak, PhD Eng. Wojciech Owczarzak, MSc Eng. Sławomir Sommer).

DESCRIPTION: The world's only testing device for effective measurements of rolling resistance in road conditions, the set includes a measuring trailer built DMVMT and a towing vehicle - Ford Kuga. The solutions are protected by a patent. The device is used for research carried out as part of international and national projects as well as in research for industry conducted mainly abroad. It enables rolling resistance measurements in the speed range of 30 - 130 km/h using the regulated or cold pumping pressure method.

List of projects in which the device has been and is used: 5PRUE – SILVIA, 7PRUE – PERSUADE, Norway Grants – LEO, PolNor – ELANORE, NCBiR – ROLRES, NCBiR - SEPOR.

List of principals for whom research was/are being conducted: MICHELIN tire factory, France; HYUNDAI car factory (in Germany); scientific institutes: DOT Minnesota, USA; VTI, Sweden; DRD, Danmark; BRRC, Belgium; SINTEF, Norway; M+P, Hollanda, AECOM, Grait Britain, G+P, Switzerland; NCC, Sweden.
