The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdansk University of Technology is a place where passion for engineering meets cutting-edge technologies and world-class research. There are approximately 2,600 students in the Faculty, and 30% of them are women, demonstrating that the Faculty is attracting more and more women to fields once dominated by men. Our students come from 30 countries, a testament to the high quality of the curricula offered and the global importance of the research and projects carried out at the Faculty. Our Faculty has 68 state-of-the-art laboratories for advanced research and projects. As a result, students gain the practical skills necessary in the labour market and have the opportunity to work with the latest equipment and technologies.
Rich offer of majors and specialisations
The Faculty offers a wide range of majors. Each provides a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills, as well as the opportunity to specialise in a chosen field. At present, there are nine majors in undergraduate studies: mechanical and shipbuilding, power engineering, mechanical and medical engineering, mechanics and machine construction, mechatronics, ships and maritime structures, yacht design and construction, transport and logistics, management and production engineering.
Career prospects
Graduates of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology are highly valued and in demand on the labour market. The faculty actively cooperates with the industrial sector, resulting in meetings with companies and job fairs such as: "Offshore Career Day" or "TargOiOwisko". Thanks to meetings with industrial companies, students often begin their careers already during their studies, as the demand for the engineers we educate is constantly growing. Graduation from the Faculty opens doors to many prestigious positions in various industries, such as the yachting industry, logistics, marine energy or medicine. Cooperation with industry and the implementation of research and development (R&D) projects prepares students to work in a dynamic environment and conduct innovative projects.
Scientific activity and student projects
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology students are active members of scientific circles - they design and build rockets, racing cars, waterbikes or solar boats, and then present their skills at international competitions and competitions such as Formula Student, International Waterbike Regatta or RoboBoat. Such involvement develops practical skills, cooperation and project management, which is extremely valuable on the job market.

Recruitment for full-time and part-time Bachelor's degree programmes for the academic year 2024/2025 started on 22.05.2024 and will last until 14.07.2024.

electronic transmission of scans of IB diplomas
