Career after WIMiO: Wojciech Ciupa

Wojciech Ciupa
Wojciech Ciupa, is the Head of the Project Office at FERCHAU – a company providing technical services in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and IT. He graduated in Ocean Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology and shared his story with us as part of the "Career after WIMiO" series.

Until now, Wojciech has worked as a technologist at Gdańsk Shipyard and as a Project Manager at Galeon Yachts. Before becoming Head of the Project Office at FERCHAU, he worked there as a marine systems designer.

What opportunities do you think studying at WIMiO opens up?
Gaining solid knowledge in mechanics and shipbuilding is the foundation for a professional career in these fields.

What did you learn during your studies?
I learned analytical problem-solving methods, project planning, and good practices for teamwork.

What advice would you give to first-year students?
It's worth going beyond the bare minimum of the curriculum – especially in areas with broad potential, such as effective communication, presentation skills, English, and hands-on use of CAD tools.

Your biggest achievement during your studies?
Building lasting friendships with many interesting people – relationships that continue to benefit me both personally and professionally.

Your most important professional achievement?
Creating long-term, trust-based relationships with clients, business partners, and colleagues.

Interesting projects you’ve worked on?
New generations of wind turbines and self-propelled cranes.
