Tribology for Sustainable Development. The 44th Polish Tribology Conference Is Now Behind Us
The conference was opened by Prof. Justyna Kucińska-Lipka, Vice-Rector for Development; Prof. Michał Wasilczuk, Vice-Dean for Research at WIMiO and Chair of the Conference; and Prof. Jarosław Sęp, Vice-Rector for Development and Cooperation at Rzeszów University of Technology and President of the Polish Tribology Society.
- This is already the 44th edition of the conference, which clearly demonstrates how important and valuable this event is for the tribology community. For many years, it has provided a platform not only for presenting the latest research findings, but above all for exchanging experiences, engaging in discussions, and establishing cooperation between researchers and industry representatives - emphasised Prof. Michał Wasilczuk.
- We are delighted that, for the first time on such a scale, this edition of the conference brought together distinguished international experts to deliver plenary lectures, which undoubtedly enhanced the conference’s international profile and significance - he added.
Participants had the opportunity to attend a range of fascinating lectures exploring tribology in various fields, including cross-country skiing, cardiac surgery, wind energy, electric vehicles and the maritime sector, as well as reflections on the policies of major scientific publishing companies.
Plenary lectures were delivered by Andreas Almqvist (Luleå University of Technology, Sweden), Benyebka Bou-Saïd (INSA Lyon, France), Michel Fillon (University of Poitiers, France), Thomas Hagemann (Clausthal University of Technology, Germany), Florian König (Ghent University, Belgium), Adolfo Senatore (University of Salerno, Italy), and Ian Sherrington (University of Lancashire, United Kingdom, Managing Director of the International Tribology Council).
Other conference participants presented their research during thematic sessions and a poster session.
