Tasks of the Curriculum Committee

  1. Making changes in study curricula, associated with adjusting the curricula to the provisions of bills, university requirements, changes planned and recommended by the Dean.
  2. Participation of the chairperson or an appointed Committee member in meetings with the representatives of study courses organized upon the request of the Dean, Vice-Dean, students, internal and external stakeholders.
  3. As requested by the Dean, organization and supervision of the faculty students’ questionnaires for 6th or 7th semester of 1st degree study courses, regarding the continuation of studies on 2nd degree study course.
  4. As requested by the Dean, organization and supervision of the satisfaction surveys for students of courses which underwent significant changes in the curricula.
  5. Processing and giving opinion of curricula change requests made by internal or external stakeholders, as described in the Ordinance of the Dean no. 10/02/2022 (on the principles of introducing changes to curricula of the study courses conducted at FMEST) in the manner and timeframes specified in the faculty procedures.
  6. Periodic monitoring of the study effects for a given study course on the basis of the guidelines defined in University Procedure no. 12, including:
    1. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Monitoring the compliance with qualification framework and adequacy with the international standards on effects specified for a study course and effects defined for a subject/module in general subjects group, course-specific and specialized subjects, vocational practice, subjects associated with the realization of a diploma thesis, diploma exam and assessment of the graduates’ levels by employers,
    2. Defining the range of data or information necessary to conduct the verification of study effects (Procedure no. 12, item 4.2.1.),
    3. Defining the scope, appointing the persons and time of conducting partial verification of the study effects,
    4. Conducting partial verification of the study effects on the basis of the analysis of study effects matrix, conclusions from class observations and adequacy of questions during diploma exams, in relation to the assumed study effects,
    5. Verification of the study effects specified for a given study course, considering the data and information obtained from the partial verification of the study effects,
    6. Providing information whether it is necessary to change the study effects or not.
  1. Active participation in change management process and information flow process.
  2. Assessment of the question sets for 1st and 2nd degree diploma exams.
  3. Assessment and approval of changes introduced to the Subject Cards.
  4. Periodic analysis of the content of the Subject Cards in terms of identifying the curriculum of a subject, canonical or selectable; identification and definition of the allowed degree of convergence of subjects’ contend on 1st and 2nd degree courses.
  5. Approving the proposed subjects of diploma theses: chairperson is responsible for approving the subjects of MSc theses, vice-chairperson is responsible for approving BSc/ME theses/projects.
  6. Periodic/annual verification of the approved and realized subjects of the diploma theses within 1st and 2nddegree study courses, for compliance with the requirements specified in the Faculty Principles for Awarding Diploma and University Guidelines on Diploma Awarding Process (Recommendation and launching of the mitigation actions in cooperation with the Dean and Vice-Deans for Education and for Students Matters).
  7. Cooperation with the Committee for the Accreditation of Didactic Labs: assessment of the substantial content of selected manuals, help in infrastructure assessment, formation of guidelines for accepting the infrastructure development guidelines.
  8. Cooperation with the Vocational Practice Group – giving opinion on framework and personal vocational practice programs, assigning the study effects to these programs, participation in the analysis of the realization of vocational practice – cooperation with internal (students) and external (entrepreneurs) stakeholders in the area of the analysis of stakeholders’ opinion, analysis of the reports covering the realization of vocational practice.
  9. Cooperation with eLearning Coordinators: depending on the needs and planned changes, participation in the process of assessing the study course content, preparing the recommendations for creating study courses – selecting the content and education methods for the course subjects.
  10. Cooperation with the Faculty Committee for Ensuring the Quality of Education: participation in the process of creating the Faculty Book of Quality.
  11. Participation of the representatives of Curricula Committee in accreditation processes: preparation of documents for accreditation, participation in accreditation meetings.
  12. Participation in the admission process in the area of preparing educational offer: creating and updating descriptions, giving opinion and participation of gathering materials to prepare actions promoting a given study course.
  13. Supporting the Faculty Authorities in realization of the Faculty Strategy in the area of education.
  14. Conducting other work requested by the faculty authorities.

Faculty Coordinator for curricula and ECTS catalogue at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology is Professor Marek Galewski PhD, DSc, ME

Tasks of the Coordinator for curricula and ECTS catalogue

  1. Cooperation with the dean and curricula committees in matters associated with creation and modification of the study curricula,
  2. Supervision of work on preparing the study curricula in Polish and in English,
  3. Ensuring the compliance of prepared study curricula with the current provisions of law,
  4. The Coordinator is responsible for uploading the study curricula to MojaPG portal and the correctness of filling them with subjects introduced during the study cycle (i.e. indicating the requirement of presenting the subject in the educational offer, updating the definitions of the subjects with the hours dedicated for the student’s own work and consultation, assigning the correct study effects and study groups to them),
  5. The Coordinator is responsible for defining and entering the data in a subject card, such as the subject goal, content and study effects,
  6. Cooperation with teachers responsible for creating the content of subject cards, in the area of fulfilling them,  
  7. Cooperation with the appropriate coordinators for given study curricula and with the dean’s office employee in the area of uploading the curricula to MojaPG portal and filling in the subject cards,  
  8. Verification of the content of subject cards in MojaPG portal and making decisions on publishing them in the ECTS catalogue,
  9. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting partial verification of the study effects on the basis of the analysis of a matrix developed for a given study course and providing the curriculum committee with the results of this verification,  
  10. The Coordinator is responsible for conducting partial verification of the study effects on the basis of the analysis of subject cards, including the compliance of study course effects in a study curriculum and providing the curriculum committee with the results of this verification.
