The Faculty Committee for Ensuring the Quality of Education

In compliance with the resolution of the GUT Senate no. 57/2017/XlV, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology has established the Faculty Committee for Ensuring the Quality of Education, for 2021-2024 term. The Committee consists of:

  1. Professor Beata Świeczko-Żurek, PhD, DSc, ME - chairwoman, representative of the Institute of Machine Technology and Materials,
  2. Blanka Jakubowska, PhD, ME  - representative of the Institute of Power Engineering,
  3. Wiktor Sieklicki, PhD, ME - representative of the Institute of Mechanics and Machine Construction,
  4. Paulina Strąkowska, PhD, ME - representative of the Institute of Ocean Technology and Ship Technology,
  5. one or two representatives of students (replaced every 1 or 2 years),
  6. Aleksandra Laska, MSc, ME -  representative of the PhD students
  7. Kazimierz Lewandowski MSc, ME - representative of the entrepreneurs,
  8. Ireneusz Karaśkiewicz MSc, ME - representative of the entrepreneurs
  9. Tomasz Słowik - representative of the students

The tasks of the Committee include ensuring the realization of the objectives of the Internal System for Ensuring the Quality of Education at the faculty and, particularly:

  1. monitoring the HR policy of the faculty and level of employment, influencing the held rights for conducting studies;
  2. cooperation withe the Faculty curriculum committees within the scope of monitoring the study course curricula and obtained effects of education;
  3. cooperation with the heads of didactic centers within the didactic tasks aimed at developing knowledge and perfecting skills of the students on teh subjects conducted by the centers,
  4. monitoring the correctness of the students' assessment through, among others, the analysis of statistical distribution of marks on particular subjects;
  5. analyzing the requirements applied to diploma theses and being in effect during diploma exams;
  6. monitoring and assessment of the quality of scientific research conduted at the faculty in terms of their cohesion with the process of education;
  7. analyzing, monitoring and dissemination of the information about the education at the faculty and, also popularization of good practices for ensuring the quality of education;
  8. monitoring of the didactic and laboratory resources and supporting infrastructure (among others: libraries, computers with Internet access) and supporting means (such as scientific support or consulting) for students;
  9. monitoring the mobility of students and staff;
  10. monitoring the students' administrative service;
  11. starting cooperation with the social and economic surroundings in order to obtain the opinion of the external stakeholders regarding the curricula of the studies;
  12. monitoring the professional careers of the faculty's graduates;
  13. monitoring the faculty's activities benefiting the regional community, conducting the self-assessment of quality-focused actions conducted at the faculty;
  14. annual preparation of guidelines and recommendations for quality focused actions, on the basis of the assessment of education quality and presentation of these recommendations at the meetings of the Faculty Council
  15. annual updating of the Faculty Book of Education Quality
