Academic year 2021/2022 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Organization of the education process
Such a solution will facilitate grouping theoretical and practical classes in blocks. Through two or three days of each week we will group classes whose realization can be easily moved from stationary to hybrid or remote mode, namely lectures and practicals.
The remaining days of the weekly schedule will be dedicated to practical classes such as laboratory exercises, projects and seminars which often require technical assets of the faculty and as such cannot be realized in a remote mode if high quality of education is to be maintained.
Classes realization forms - moving from stationary to hybrid or remote mode - are subject to change due to dynamically developing epidemiological sitation in the country and due to possible modifications of the guidelines regarding the organization of the education issued by the ministry or rector's office.
GUT mode of operation
GUT authorities decided, that classes conducted at the university will be conducted in a hybrid mode, however, stationary mode will prevail. Basic form of conducting classes is stationary, however, lectures for large groups of students should be conducted remotely, however, the final decision will be taken by the deans of the faculties. The deans will specify a list of classes to be conducted in remote or hybrid mode, and appropriate information will be posted on teh faculties' websites.
Exams and final tests
Exams and final tests shall be conducted stationarily, however, it is possible to conduct them remotely. The decision will be made by the dean after consulting a teacher responsible for the subject and a student representative. In case of PhD schools, the decision will be made by the heads of the schools.
Sports and PE classes
PE classes in Academic Sports Centre will be conducted in a stationary mode. The manager of the ASC will specify the conditions of conducting the classes and awarding credits in remote or hybrid mode for students who will not be able to participate in stationary classes.
All stationary classes will be conducted in compliance with the current sanitary regime and guidelines and regulations of the Chief Sanitary Inspector and Ministry of Education and Science.
The above stipulations include the fact that teh provisions of the Minister of Education and Science of 25 February 2021 on temporary limitation in functioning of certain units of the system of higher education and science in connection with preventing and combatting COVID-19 are only effective until 30 September 2021. Should new legal regulations be introduced, the above stipulations will remain in force, as long as they are not contradictory to the introduced legal regulations covering the territory of Poland in academic year 2021/2022.
We would also like to add that the re-sit exam session in September will be held in remote mode.
