GUT begins cooperation with National Taiwan Ocean University. A visit at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology
On Wednesday, 18 August 2021 a meeting between the representatives of GUT and National Taiwan Ocean University in Taiwan initiated by the vice-president of Polish Space Agency, professor Marek Moszyński was held on the premises of GUT. Numerous members of the NTOU academic staff participated in the online part of the meeting.
During the meeting the participants discussed the possibilities of starting cooperation both in didactic and research area, with particular consideration of space and satellite technologies. The parties expressed their interest in scientific cooperation in such areas as: smart ships, smart ports, unmanned ships and underwater vehicles, green energy, zero emission vessels a wind energy.

Xavier Li-Wen Liao, PhD, also visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, where he met the vice-dean for cooperation, professor Mariusz Deja PhD, DSc, ME and other members of the academic staff. During the meeting the guest watched a presentation on the faculty and areas of scientific interests considered in terms of cooperation. Doctor Li-Wen visited the faculty's labs.
After visiting our faculty, the guest also visited the research labs at the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Information Technology.
The parties agreed that the possible areas of cooperation shall be specified in detail by mid-October in order to sign the agreement of cooperation between GUT and NTOU. Since 2017 GUT has been cooperation with another Taiwanese university, however, in the area of architecture (National Taipei University of Technology).
