The draft agenda

The conference has the overall objective to promote and present the IMPRESSIVE solution, an innovative platform with cutting-edge technology which could  contribute to the sustainability of the ports in Europe. The project is implemented by a consortium of 12
partners from the private and the public sector.

Participants will have the chance to learn more about the innovative platform and the story behind this marine initiative; join the debate in round tables with local and regional authorities, port authorities, industry, other maritime initiatives; and join an open discussion between experts and audience on current  and future needs in terms of maritime services that could be fostered, implemented and integrated into the  regional strategies.

The added value of the IMPRESSIVE platform is reflected in the combination of various sophisticated technologies/techniques for earth observation, robotics and advanced mathematical models, for the development of this integrated, universal and replicable system, based on satellite images, autonomous vehicles and Copernicus Marine products. Most importantly, the platform is a supportive tool to achieve at  a low cost a better port management which provides the end user with all needed  information to control pollution incidents.

The conference is addressed to potential users from the public and private sector: Port authorities, Local and Regional administrations, EU institutions, policy makers, maritime and shipping industry. An ultimate goal of this innovation action is to foster the exploitation of Copernicus products by  supporting the reduction of pollutants, improving the quality of waters and providing greater access  and information to citizens.
