Dominik Piaścik passed away at 74 years of age
Dominik Piaścik started his professional career in Gdańsk in the local Shipyard where he was employed as tracer.The experience in designing component construction technologies gained in the shipyard as well as his executive skills proved to be very valuable when he started working at GUT. First he was employes as a senior technician in the Energy Department and in 1996 he was transferred to the Department of Combustion Engines and Compressors (currently: Department of Ecoengineering and Combustion Engines).
Dominik Piaścik participated in numerous scientific projects, among others he contributed to designing a hybrid vehicle in 1990's, chassis dynamometer for testing vehicles, installattion of engine test beds and numerous didactic stands.
Dominik Piaścik was a very kind and patient person for his colleagues, he happily shared his experience and knowledge helping PhD students and regular students in their scientific theses. He often completed urgent tasks during his free time in the weekends and evenings. Dominik Piaścik was strongly associated with the university, he kept the professional and emotional bond with GUT even after his retirement.
We lost a very good friend, a man open to the world, novelties and other people's opinions.
