Summary of diploma theses and possible cooperation with Base Group
In the beginning of this year, two students: Michał Bilicki and Maciej Biedrzycki defended their diploma theses at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. During the meeting at Base Group, the graduates summarised their projects.
Michał Bilicki defended the thesis entitled „Analysis of the variants of technological process in the aspects of time and manufacturing costs for mechanical components”, supervised by professor Mariusz Deja. The thesis was written on the basis of an engineering problem encountered by Base Group.
Engineer diploma thesis written by Maciej Biedrzycki was entitled: “A design of wheel hubs for Formula Student racing car produced by means of additive manufacturing from titanium powders”. Maciej Biedrzycki was a member of the PG Racing Team and he is now applying the experience and competences gained there in the team for the Automation of Manufacturing Processes in Base Group. The diploma thesis was supervised by Ryszard Jasiński, PhD, ME.
Further cooperation with Base Group
The authorities of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology: professor Andrzej Seweryn, FMEST Dean, and professor Mariusz Deja, Vice-dean for cooperation, held a meeting with Base Group CEO, Jakub Kaszuba, and discussed further cooperation between the Faculty and the company. Plans include, among others, scholarships for the best students, paid apprenticeship, industry-oriented workshop activities or substantial support of diploma theses.
Base Group is a medium-sized manufacturing enterprise, specializing in the production of machines, devices and high-quality welded metal structures. The company specializes in manufacturing structures for the following branches of industry: chemical and pharmaceutical industry, environmental protection industry, shipyards and off-shore industry, food production, railway rolling stock and high-voltage energy production.
