Success for KSTO Korab at the 2024 International Water Bike Regatta
Studying is not only about learning, but also about developing your passions and interests. KSTO Korab students combine their studies with their passion for water sports - building watercraft and then competing with them in international regattas. The team of 15 students worked hard for four days, right from their arrival on Wednesday, to ensure that all the watercraft were in maximum working order. This was the culmination of months of intensive preparation and the efforts of the entire team.
Spectacular results
Three water bikes went to the competition, of which 'Rektor' was the most successful, finishing 2nd overall. Rektor was only 2 points short of victory (132 points to 134 points). In two of the six competitions, the KSTO Korab team decisively outclassed its opponents with spectacular results:
Forward-Stop-Backward: A time of 46 seconds, while the other team achieved a time of 57 seconds.
Long Distance: Time of 12:34 minutes, surpassing the other team, which achieved a time of 13:45 minutes.
The other two bikes, 'Djordj' and 'CBG', also performed well, finishing 10th and 14th overall respectively out of the 24 units competing.
Congratulations!
This success is a testament to the great commitment, determination and skill of our students. We congratulate the entire KSTO Korab team and thank them for their hard work and representing the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology on the international area. We wish you continued success and hope that future years will bring even more great achievements!
