New dean authorities at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology.

On September 1, 2024, significant changes occurred in the dean's authorities at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. New directors of the institutes were also appointed.

For the 2024-2028 term, Prof. Mariusz Deja — the former Vice-Dean for Cooperation at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology (WIMiO) and Head of the Department of Machine Technology and Production Automation — has been appointed as the new Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Alongside the new Dean, two new Vice-Deans have been appointed: Dr. Marek Chodnicki and Dr. Paulina Strąkowska. The current structure of the Dean's authorities at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is as follows:

  • Dean: Dr. Mariusz Deja, University Professor
  • Vice-Dean for Research: Prof. Michał Wasilczuk
  • Vice-Dean for Development: Dr. Jacek Kropiwnicki, University Professor
  • Vice-Dean for Cooperation: Dr. Marek Chodnicki
  • Vice-Dean for Education: Dr. Aleksandra Teresa Wiśniewska
  • Vice-Dean for Student Affairs: Dr. Paulina Strąkowska

New Institute Directors

At the beginning of September, two new institute directors were also appointed. Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz, who also serves as the Vice-Rector for Research at Gdańsk University of Technology (PG), has taken over as Director of the Institute of Energy. Dr. Dariusz Fydrych has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Machine and Material Technology. The current list of institute directors is as follows:

  • Institute of Shipbuilding: Dr. Wojciech Litwin, University Professor
  • Institute of Energy: Prof. Dariusz Mikielewicz
  • Institute of Mechanics and Machine Design: Dr. Wiktoria Wojnicz, University Professor
  • Institute of Machine and Material Technology: Dr. Dariusz Fydrych

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all newly appointed members, as well as to those continuing their roles within our Faculty. We wish them success and satisfaction in their respective positions, and we look forward to further strengthening the Faculty's standing on both the national and international stage.
