Prof. Michał Wasilczuk became a member of the advisory team for the Polish Research Infrastructure Map.

On July 26, 2024, the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, appointed an advisory team for the 'Polish Research Infrastructure Map.' Among the 24 scientists, there are two representatives from the Gdańsk University of Technology: Prof. Michał Wasilczuk and Prof. Jacek Stefański.

The Polish Research Infrastructure Map was established in 2009 at the initiative of the Minister of Science and Higher Education. This initiative brings together infrastructure with the highest potential for scientific excellence, combining research resources in areas key to the development of science and the country. Additionally, it monitors Polish scientific institutions in terms of their investment policies and scientific and infrastructural resources.

The tasks of the team working on the new version of the map for 2025 include, among other things, evaluating applications for the inclusion of strategic research infrastructure on the Polish Research Infrastructure Map and analyzing information about the infrastructure already listed as part of the ongoing review. The team is then required to submit to the Minister of Science the assessments of the applications and information, along with justifications and recommendations, regarding the inclusion or removal of certain infrastructure from the Map.

The team, which is strategically important for Polish science, includes scientists from the Gdańsk University of Technology: Prof. Michał Wasilczuk, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, and Prof. Jacek Stefański, Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics. The first meeting of the team took place on July 31, 2024.

We extend our sincere congratulations to both scientists on their appointment to such responsible positions and wish them success in their efforts and future endeavors.
