Even More Opportunities for Students: Another Agreement Signed for Internships and Placements

POLBOAT
New development opportunities are emerging for students of the Yacht Design and Construction programme. The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology has signed yet another agreement to facilitate internships and placements for students of this programme. This time, the cooperation agreement has been established with POLBOAT – The Polish Chamber of the Yacht and Water Sports Industry – Polish Yachts.

"I am very pleased with the signing of this agreement—it opens up new opportunities for students at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology," said Professor Andrzej Seweryn, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk University of Technology. "Collaboration with companies and organizations representing such a high level of technical expertise is one of the three key elements of education. In addition to lectures, exercises, and laboratory work within the study programme, as well as independent work on student projects, the collaboration with companies through internships and placements is incredibly valuable," he added. He emphasized that this partnership provides opportunities to gain additional practical knowledge.

Developing Polish Talent

"We are not only focused on the future of this industry but also on the development of the entire country," said Sebastian Nietupski, President of POLBOAT, during the agreement signing. "We can be proud that we will have Polish talent working with the Polish industry, representing the highest level of quality in luxury products, recognized worldwide. I am proud that we are embarking on this journey together. I hope that in five years, at the next POLBOAT Yachting Festival, we will be able to say that a group of students educated at the new Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology stands behind us. We invite students to collaborate with us," he emphasized.

POLBOAT – The Polish Chamber of the Yacht and Water Sports Industry – Polish Yachts was founded on May 11, 2006, in Warsaw. The founding members included 100 entities operating in the sectors of production, services, sports, and water tourism. Months of efforts by individuals, many of whom were members of the Polish Yachts Association, led to the successful establishment of a higher organizational form: the Chamber of Commerce.

The agreement was signed during the POLBOAT Yachting Festival 2021, which took place at Marina Yacht Park in Gdynia from July 15-18. During the festival, attendees had the opportunity to view yacht exhibitions at the marina, as well as participate in various events for professionals and enthusiasts.

On July 8, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology also entered into a collaboration with Sunreef Yachts, a world-class yacht manufacturer.
