FMEST in Collaboration with Kongsberg Maritime
As stated in the preamble, the signed agreement focuses on “improving the quality of education for future professionals by incorporating practical elements of mechanical engineering knowledge into vocational training initiatives.”
Under the terms of the declaration, students from our Faculty will have the opportunity to undertake paid internships and placements at Kongsberg Maritime, as well as receive substantive support for their diploma theses.
It is worth noting that the collaboration between the two parties began much earlier, as our students have previously participated in paid internships and placements at Kongsberg Maritime. The company has also been actively engaged in our Faculty’s events, such as the “TargOiOwisko” career fair.
The meeting to formalise the agreement was attended by:
- Professor Andrzej Seweryn – Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology,
- Adam Laskowski – President of the Management Board at Kongsberg Maritime,
- Mariusz Deja – Vice-Dean for Collaboration at FMEST,
- Jacek Frost – FMEST Representative for Student Internships,
- Mateusz Stępkowski – VP Waterjets at Kongsberg Maritime.
On the day of the agreement signing, students had the opportunity to learn about Kongsberg’s research areas, capabilities, and achievements during a special lecture. They were also able to discuss internship, placement, and career opportunities while enjoying coffee at the dedicated Kongsberg booth.
