Students to Design Boats Used by the Military: Another Agreement Signed
Professor Andrzej Seweryn, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk University of Technology, signed a cooperation agreement in the educational and scientific field with the boat manufacturer Techno Marine. The company is well-known internationally, particularly for its production of RHIBs, pilot boats, commercial vessels, catamarans, tugboats, dredgers, and other floating units made from composite materials, steel, and aluminium.
“This will be a closer collaboration with Gdańsk University of Technology, offering the opportunity to jointly focus on the future of students and their development,” said Sebastian Majewski, President of Techno Marine.
The boats produced by Techno Marine are used by a wide range of clients, including individual customers, pilots, naval and special forces, coast guards, police, customs officers, scientists, and fishermen.
“As one of the few in Poland, we built a marine dredger – something that hadn’t been done in 25 years. Now, we are building fast, unique patrol vessels for the border guard and military, which are being deployed worldwide. We also build peacekeeping vessels and equipment for mega yachts, some of which are over 200 meters in length,” added Sebastian Majewski.
This is the third agreement signed as part of the new degree programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology: Yacht Design and Construction. In recent weeks, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at Gdańsk University of Technology has also signed cooperation agreements with Sunreef Yachts and POLBOAT – The Polish Chamber of the Yacht and Water Sports Industry – Polish Yachts.
