For a person with a PhD degree obtained in 2018 or later, as part of the project " Heat transfer intensification in two-phase flow by tailoring the working medium distribution".

The following are required from candidates:

  • PhD degree in mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, mining and energy or related - specialization in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer or related, obtained in 2018 or later,
  • experience in conducting experimental research,
  • ability to prepare scientific papers confirmed by scientific publications in renowned international journals,
  • ability to work in a team in the field of scientific research,
  • basic knowledge of programming,
  • knowledge of LabView software,
  • fluent knowledge of English and/or Polish,
  • experience in using the PIV method will be an additional asset.

*In accordance with the requirements of the National Science Centre, a post-doc in the project may be a person who meets the conditions specified in the regulations

Description of tasks:

Participation in the implementation of the research project entitled "Heat transfer intensification in two-phase flow by tailoring the working medium distribution”, financed by the National Science Center in Krakow, grant SONATA 19, project agreement number UMO-2023/51/D/ST8/01989 of November 4, 2024, at the Post-doc position.

The aim of the project is to check how the use of several inlets and a single outlet in micro pin fin heat sinks (MPFHS) affects the temperature uniformity and efficiency of MPFHS in two-phase flow. In addition, the effect of various geometric and thermal-hydraulic parameters of the radiator on heat transfer will be tested.

The main research tasks for this position are:

  • conducting experimental research,
  • reducing and visualizing measurement data,
  • reporting work to the Principal Investigator,
  • preparing scientific manuscripts.

Employment conditions:

  • the candidate selected in the competition must have a doctoral degree obtained in 2018 or later,
  • full-time employment is concluded for the duration of specific tasks in the project from the moment of concluding the contract (expected date of signing the contract - 01.04.2025); the maximum period of employment is 30 months,
  • the amount of funds for full-time remuneration is approx. PLN 110 000.00 gross per year.

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • cover letter,
  • CV containing information on the candidate's scientific achievements, distinctions resulting from conducting research and competences to carry out specific tasks in the research project,
  • copy of the doctoral degree diploma an appropriate certificate,
  • list of projects in which the candidate participated,
  • other documents confirming possession of additional qualifications,
  • statement regarding personal data protection: "I consent to the processing of my personal data contained in the job offer for the purposes necessary to carry out the recruitment process (in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, Journal of Laws 2002, No. 101, item 926, as amended).

Information on the processing of personal data:

8. Providing your personal data to the extent resulting from art. 221 of the Labor Code is necessary to participate in the recruitment process. Providing other data by you is voluntary. *GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

The Competition Committee reserves the right to:

  • conduct an interview with selected candidates who, based on the information contained in the submitted documents, were assessed the highest (selected candidates will be informed about the interview date by email),
  • not decide on the competition.

The expected date of selecting the winning candidate is 07.03.2025. The start of work on the project is planned for 01.04.2025. The selected candidate will receive a salary of approx. PLN 110 000.00 gross per year for a period of 30 months.
