"Green" technologies in sailing will be discussed during GreenMarE conference in Gdańsk, on April 20

On April 20, 2021, from 9:00 to 12:00 Gdańsk will host the first European GreenMarE conference dedicated to "green" technologies, reducing the emission of pollution from the ships in compliance with the objectives of the new world climate policy.

The GreenMarE conference is one of the events accompanying the Marine Economy InterMarE South Baltic trade fair. Due to COVID-19 pandemics, the conference, alongside with the trade fair will be held online.

The conference is organized by Związek Pracodawców FORUM OKRĘTOWE (Employer Union SHIPPING FORUM), Międzynarodowe Targi Gdańskie S.A. (International Trade Fair Gdańsk Ltd) and  PORTALMORSKI.PL Sp. z o.o., and it is under the honorary patronage of:

Starting from March 17,2021 you can register your entry for this year's edition - for the first time in Poland - of the competition for James Dyson's Prize. You can win:

Open lecture of professor Michał Wieczorkowski

Open lecture of professor Michał Wieczorkowski entitled "Measurements of geometrical structure of a surface" was held on March 11, 2021 in the auditorium of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology. Since 2020 the professor has been holding the post of the vice-rector for development and cooperation with the economy of Poznań University of Technology. Professor Wieczorkowski specializes in technical metrology and his scientific interests include coordinate system- based measurement techniques, surface topography and computer tomography.

GUT's Specialists to support Polish Navy ship ORP Kormoran

On March 10, the Command of Navy Port in Gdynia informed about opening the offers for tender on the support of the operation of minehunter ORP Kormoran.  Within two separate tasks, a servicing agency to repair two important on-board system was to be selected.

The first section of the tender was designed to find a servicing agency to repair the counter-mine system based on Głuptak underwater vehicles. Within the second one, an agent to repair the sound velocity probe Valeport Limited Midas SVP 49373 was to be selected. Finally, the only enterprise to file an offer in both tasks was GUT's Center for Marine Military Technology. In total, the proposed remuneration for both tasks was PLN 150,000 gross, and it falls within the assumed budget.
