How to deal with stress? Sign up for classes
We invite students of Gdańsk University of Technology to participate in seminars on coping with stressful situations organized as part of the "Hey, are you OK?" project. Registration for meetings lasts until March 27th. The number of places is limited.

In mid-September 2022, the "Hey, are you OK?" project was launched at Gdańsk University of Technology. The main goal of it is to support the emotional health of students and employees. The activities are coordinated by Gdańsk Tech International Relations Office.

Summing up the year 2022 at Gdańsk University of Technology
Awarded inventions, investments counted in hundreds of millions of zlotys, recognition in international rankings, cooperation with leading European technical universities, one of the best results of evaluation of research activity in the country, organization of important events - in 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology consistently achieved its goals. The community of our university also showed solidarity with the Ukrainian nation.

In the Domestic Forefront, Noticed Abroad

In 2022, Gdańsk University of Technology strengthened its presence in the most important international rankings. It was among 11 Polish universities in the so-called Shanghai ranking (Academic Ranking of World Universities), which is considered the most prestigious ranking of universities in the world. In this year's ranking, our university maintained its position in the 801-900 range and recorded a point increase in two ranking indicators: PUB and PCP.

Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, prof. Andrzej Seweryn, PhD, DSc, Eng. was elected to the Council of Scientific Excellence as a representative of the discipline of mechanical engineering, which is within the competence of Team II of Engineering and Technical Sciences.

The Scientific Excellence Council was established on the basis of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on Higher Education and Science. Among its tasks is conducting proceedings for the conferment of the academic title of professor, appointing reviewers and the chairman of the habilitation committee, and examining appeals related to the conferment of academic degrees and titles also in the field of art. The members of the council, 3 for each discipline, are elected by habilitated doctors and professors from all over Poland in a secret ballot.

OFFSHORE 2022 Career Day - Catch the big fish!
The first edition of the OFFSHORE Career Day at Gdansk University of Technology is coming up. This is a great opportunity to talk to representatives of companies operating in the renewable energy sector, but also an important step in choosing a career path. We invite students and graduates, as well as all those interested in offshore wind energy who want to build a professional career in one of the fastest growing energy sectors in Europe today.

The event will take place on October 26, from: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology, in the lobby of Building 30 (Institute of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology), on the first floor.

The organizers of the OFFSHORE Career Day are: Gdansk University of Technology's Offshore Wind Energy Center, Pomeranian Employers, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology and Careers and Alumni Office.

Sliding bearings lubricated with a magnetorheological fluid. An innovative project of scientists
Scientists from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology in cooperation with the scientists from Technical University Delft (The Netherlands) are conducting research on sliding bearings lubricated with magnetorheological fluid. During a visit in TU Delft, the researchers managed to launch another station for experimental research.  

Research in TU Delft was conducted with the participation of GUT professors – Wojciech Litwin representing the Institute of Ocean Technology and Ship Technology and Michał Wodtke representing the Institute of Mechanics and Machine Construction.
