Professor Romuald Szczęsny Award is a prestigious trophy awarded by the President of the City of Gdynia to the most talented graduates of Gdańsk University of Technology. The award commemorates prematurely deceased citizen of Gdynia, a GUT professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering.

The post-graduate course Off-shore Wind Energy Production was launched in autumn 2019 at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Ship Technology (currently: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology).
