Laboratory was launched - with a symbolic cutting of the ribbon - by GUT Rector, professor Krzysztof Wilde, PhD, DSc, ME, FMEST Dean professor Andrzej Seweryn, PhD, DSc, ME and vice-president of Mitutoyo company - Jakub Ruszkowski. 

– The measuring devices and apparatus can be applied in automotive, aviation and medical industry, to mention but a few, where transparent, reliable and repeatable results that can be achieved quickly are of utmost importance - says professor Krzysztof Wilde, rector of the GUT. 

In his inaugural speech, which preceded the reading of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's letter to the academic community, the rector emphasized that the last academic year was exceptional not only due to the unusual working and study conditions caused by the pandemic, but also due to the achievements of Gdańsk University of Technology, including the presence in the prestigious "Shanghai ranking" that lists 1000 of the best universities in the world, success in the Times Higher Education ranking and the highest position in the history of the university in the

EuRoC – European Rocketry Challenge is a rocket competition held between 11-17 October in Portugal. 400 students from all over Europe will attend. Amongt them there will be a team representing Gdańsk Universty of Technology, competing in 3km category. The preparations are in their final stage. 

Every year, the International Relations Office organizes an information meeting for foreigners, starting their studies at the Gdańsk University of Technology. The event is not only an opportunity to welcome new foreign students at the University, but also to provide important information related to the beginning of the academic year, organization of studies and life in Gdańsk.

This time the form of the competition is a bit different, since it begins online on September 27 when static events will be held until October 1. Dynamic events will take place in Italy from 10 to 13 October 2021. 

Date and venue: 19-21 November 2021. The conference will last three days and will have a hybrid form. You can participate in the conference in a stationary mode (first two days, i.e. 19 and 20 November) in CSNE in Wrocław or online (with the aid of ZOOM platform). 

Conference subjects are very comprehensive, so you can choose a subject that suits your interests best. This year the subjects have been divided into two thematic blocks:

Students of mechatronics (1st degree course, 6th term) have a whole term to design and build an RC vehicle that will go through an obstacle course and parks in a garage.

Graduates of the post-graduate studies "ISO standards and management through quality (TQM)" will gain necessary knowledge on the modern methods of managing organizations. They also gain skills allowing them to perform the duties of a manager's representative for management systems on the basis of the obtained competences: quality manager and/or internal quality management auditor, environmental management, health and safety management confirmed by appropriate certificates.

Subjects of the course:

Karol Moszyk is currently working on an implementation PhD thesis on the analysis of the cargo handling strategy of the deep-water container terminal within the aspect of process efficiency. One of its elements consists in the automation of cargo handling process at lorry gate and railroad sidetrack.
